That was the Day

The day was the 12th of March 2025,

that was the day I heard would be your last alive

I cried and cried just hoping it would all be fine, but all those wishes weren’t just mine

As you played there with tears rolling down your face, I think everyone was hoping for a miracle, but that wasn’t the case

As you let out you last breath of peace, everyone was crying even your nephews and niece

This world will never be the same without you here, you never even got to serve me my first beer

As people visit you now forever and ever, no one will forget the great man you were, never

Born to Rise

Life can be easy for some and difficult for others

But in the end, we’re all sisters and brothers.

Born to rise up to a system that oppresses us,

Born to rise up against those who offend us.

Together we can fight, all becomes one

Together we can fight and this battle we will have won

In Tullamore

I grew up in Tullamore where the canal is long,

And sometimes after school we just walked along.

It rains a lot and my shoes get wet,

But I still like this town more than anywhere yet.

We play in the pitches and have fun with friends, hopefully our time here never ends!

Learning

I am learning my weight in the world by the way doors open and close.

My voice cracks between what I feel and what I dare to say.

I carry hopes like loose change, always jingling in my pockets.

Some days I stand tall; other days I grow quietly inward.

LIFE

we are told to be strong and not cry

In order to not be shamed

And so we are not named

Things happen, we move on

It’s the cycle of male life

My Truth

I fight for my place

I get lost in the crowd

I speak my truth

My voice gets drowned out

I try to be myself

I lose myself on the way

I speak my truth

No one cares what I say

A little Longer

Sometimes I feel that I’m not enough,

And I start to struggle when things get tough,

But what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger,

So I always know I can keep trying for longer

Eamon’s long jumping shenanigans

Are you aware that my cat Eamon can jump 3 metres from a sitting position on a relatively calm day

Yes, my cat Eamon can jump 3 metres from a sitting position on a relatively calm day.

You might not believe me.

You might have to debate me.

But yes my cat Eamon cat jump 3 metres from a sitting position on a relatively calm day, Enoch Burke.

And the Cycle happens Again.

I walk to school every morning wishing I had never woken up, I go to school with the same school uniform and bag wishing to have been home in bed. When I go to the gym and to MMA training, I look forward for all the gains I will have in the coming months, When I go out with my friends I drink alcohol so heavily that I black out in the park and with my mates and then we go back home and the cycle happens again.

Life Story

From the countryside where I live too the village of Daingean where I go to hang out with my friends to the town of Tullamore where I go to school. The friendships, bullying, fallouts, get friendships back together to the relationships and break ups, there is one thing about my life and it’s no one knows my life story

Bye Bye Bike.

He was a Bike who Came from the trash

I loved him like family. Sir Dumpster Peddleton Bicycle his full name.

He lived he loved but most of all he brought hope to many people

But not everyone was as so kind

He was brutally drowned by the thugs

Who knew no real love,

Ruining the Experience of countless people

The community joined together to celebrate his contribution </3 ));

2025-2025

Muddy Lanes

I live in Daingean

It always rains

I kick my ball

Down muddy lanes

I buy some crisps

They’re really class

Then Mam shouts in wipe your feet on the grass

To rise

I learned to rise from days that broke my name,

To carry hope through doubt, through loss, through flame.

Bars

Blacked out like a phantom, since I grew up in Tullamore, I’ve been throwing tantrums, like a young boy in a school I guess, this poems my national anthem, I don’t listen, I don’t have to, when you hang with me you plateau, I play soccer and I’m a dosser my friends all act like tossers, living life like a TikTok trend.

Pressure

I feel as a lad a lot of pressure is put on you socially if you are different in any way even if others find it interesting they will always be kind of snarky if you don’t do the same thing or sports as them and especially if you dress differently, I also hate the way others talk about girls because I feel they either talk really shitty about them or just talk about looks and use language that I don’t like to use or hear.

Rewarding

Life can be tough but rewarding

It has its ups and downs

School is hard and challenging

Whenever I be myself I get frowns

Sports and friends bring me the most happiness

Just like how my life without them is emptiness

Head down

In life, you can fumble the kickoff return. It is important not to go off the field with the head down but instead on offence get the push for the 1st down

Endzone

Sometimes I shoot my shot on 4th down and long. Most of the time it is incomplete and turn over on downs that and I should have punted. But sometimes we move the chains an get closer to the endzone

Idolised

I seen people idolise a man who see woman as subhuman and call him the man the world is missing while he rambles about the government controlling everything and believing that if you don’t have expensive cars by the time you finish school you’re a failure

No drama

I grew up in the sticks

I ain’t got no chicks

The big black box

Is where I get my chips

I like my village

It’s no kip

No trauma or drama

Afraid to speak out

This isn’t a poem but it’s stuff I was afraid to speak out about that I believe men don’t have enough respect for women and treat them like shit and they usually try to use them for certain stuff. A song I listen to is Fairchild by Dave a it’s about a girl walking home alone and she gets raped and abused by a man and lyrics I believe in is “I ain’t know some women wouldn’t want a man’s help, Because so many of ’em want the same reward for their protection” and I believe in that and stick to my morals, when you are with a girl I feel more open about problems with the lads and I can be more open

What we want

Schools not boring but not interesting either,

You say you would never go another day if you could,

But yet, you laugh and have fun there and then go again and again,

Is it fair to say we never know what we really want?

Fake Friends

The day that the man falls and his friends laugh at him that’s fake friends but when his friends are trying to help that’s when you know you made real friends

Untitled

Please stop trying to impress people who don’t care about you I repeat as a mantra.

Hide

My name is Bleric

Doin’ all these TikTok trends

I’ve got a scouse trim

Life’s lookin’ dim

My friends call me tappy feet

But I just listen to scouse drill on repeat

I used to live in Merseyside

Streets are looking scary, so I have to hide

Being a young man

Being a young man can be difficult at times but great at others it’s important to choose your friends carefully and the people you want to hang out with

Unfunny

There’s this guy he thinks his wonderful and great and looks like a horse and searches for rubbish on TikTok about e girls form 2019 and thinks we want to see the shite and shows us the most unfunny videos ever thinking there funny
