Friendship
Friendship is a bond, strong and true,
A treasure that grows in all that we do.
Through laughter and tears, side by side,
In moments of joy and times we confide.
With trust as the anchor, we weather the storm,
In the warmth of each other, we find our true form.
A shared secret, a knowing glance,
In the dance of life, we take our chance.
So here’s to the friends who light up our days,
In countless small moments, their love always stays.
Through thick and thin, they help us to see.
Study
In the early dawn, the alarm clock screams,
Another long day, shattering dreams.
Books piled high, homework never ends,
A cycle of stress that never bends.
Teachers with power, some misuse their might,
Casting shadows on hope, dimming the light.
With harsh words and glares, they instil fear,
Turning bright minds into whispers unclear.
Yet in the chaos, we find our way,
Through struggles and trials, we learn to stay.
For every long hour and every hard test,
We grow and we rise, striving for our best.
Brotherhood
In a circle tight, where laughter flies,
They laugh and cry with playful lies,
Every day, a insult, a roast,
Yet in this chaos, they’re closer than ghosts.
But beneath the banter, a loyalty grows,
A bond forged in fire, where true brotherhood flows.
Then one day, darkness comes creeping near,
A friend gets his heart broken, swallowed by fear.
The loud laughter dies, replaced by a louder call,
A brother in need ,they’re there for the problem big or small.
Faces
From the school hall
To the outside walls,
As we hide our true faces
We only change in certain places,
We hear the jingle
When we tingle.
As we hide our faces
We only see in places.
Shadows
I used to think there was no light,
only shadows in the night.
They haunted me while I slept,
and even when I wept.
But I know not all is right
and there is no shadows without light.
Hope
In shadows deep, the news did fall,
A whispered truth, a heavy call.
My heart sank low, the world stood still,
The fight ahead, a daunting hill.
Yet in the dark, a spark of light,
Love’s strength will guide us through the night.
Together we’ll face this stormy sea,
For hope remains, and so shall we.
My Dog
My dog frolics in the flowers feeling the pollen.
He always acts like this,
acting very foreign.
My dog loves to roll in the dirt not a care in the world.
The world is his it is curled for him.
My dog is whole,
he is never not himself,
The flowers will never stop him as he spreads the flowers pollen.
Hope
A dying flame to a burning light,
an empty heart to one beating with pride,
Hope can revitalise all.
If its a test that you can’t pass,
or a teacher you can’t stand,
or a day in that left you all so sad,
remember that that hope is a thing,
not that fickle,
that can fix almost every little thing.
Machine
You can take apart a damaged or broken machine, label every part of it, explain what everything does.
Then send it to an alien, who lives in a different world.
They will never make the same machine.
the labels will never be descriptive enough
their environment and resources are too different
and they will have no use for it, as its not for them.
but if you lived with the alien. used the machine to help them, and show them the good its used for,
they will understand and can help repair it.
Rupert the Linesman
It’s a cold winter Sunday morning and I wake up ready for the game
Off to do my job but not for the fame.
I arrive with my colleagues and with my flag
Kick off is here, I’m ready for a slag.
Through ball is played I raise my arm
Players are fuming, likely to be harm.
Then they remember I’m just human like them and here to do my duty
And that’s what makes the human culture a beauty.
Love
Love is real love is clear ,
Pretending it’s not is just too much,
Romance is great and wisdom is real,
I want to try love,
But I’m scared to fail,
I shall not fear as fear is the mind killer.
Anything for a free class.
To work each day,
Slaving away,
Under tonnes and tonnes of papers.
Listening to lessons,
Taking baseless notes,
None of this will help me later.
Each class is a straw that comes and closer
To breaking the camel’s back.
Why, oh why, do you put this pressure on me,
Filling my head with useless tack.
Only breaks are lunches
And the occasional school mass.
I would do anything, anything
Anything for a free class.
Don’t Discriminate
You shouldn’t discriminate or generate words that will stick to people once they leave the forum
Don’t be the one put hatred upon the soul with a lot of emotions, we should unite in peace.
let’s build a world where all belong,
Where differences can make us brave and strong.
In unity we can rise absolve,
creating a future filled with love,
Together we can rise hand in hand,
For a word united where all will be able to stand.
TO LIVE
You have won,
You are alive,
the most improbable thing to ever happen to you has already happened.
Yet you sit here worrying.
Worrying about how you look,
how you act,
what you said 2 years ago under that tree with that girl.
Why.
Why waste this gift?
You wont get it again so be proud.
The reason you are here is your own to work out.
I promise it wont be that mistake you made,
but it may be that opportunity you waste based of your fear of making the same damn mistake.
So live and be alive.
You earned it.
Shame
In my younger days I start to wonder why my friends could tear me a sunder
The little comments they pass cut deep.
I can feel it in my heart,
I want to weep,
I put on a mask to hide my pain,
But I know myself I feel ashamed.
Who I am.
I am a man who likes to have fun with friends and have a laugh I live in the moment and love to hang out with people.
In my spare time I’ll either talk to my parents and watch a movie with them or I’ll lock myself in my room playing video games with my mates.
One of my hobbies is rugby I like play and watching rugby and I’m really good at it I play in the forward. The best position in the team and I have to hit people hard and won’t get in trouble for it.
That is who I am.
HAPPINESS
Happiness is within you,
You just have to find it,
Never wait for things to be better to have happiness,
If you do then you will never be happy with the now.
Being Me
I’m not slim nor tall,
I’m not normal at all,
My hairs not short nor long,
It’s a poem not a song.
I express myself,
I don’t leave it on the shelf,
I am happy being free,
I am happy being me.
Thoughts
As I get older my thoughts get bolder
I can feel my emotions getting colder.
I’m worried that things I want to say to her may scold her
but that little hope left in me tries to convince me to console her.
I want to go back in time and start again
because my actions from the past have started to overwhelm.
Untitled
I can’t put my thoughts on paper
‘Cause they all go far too fast.
I think a thought
But it’s all for naught
Since it’s already past.
Beach
We were down at the beach
Finally sadness was way out of my reach.
I was as happy as could be
And for once I wasn’t feeling as small as a flea,
Now I know that being myself around others is the best thing ever,
I won’t go back to not being myself anymore
No way at all….never.
Don’t Judge
Some people kick a ball down the line
Some people write poems line by line,
Everyone has their own way to shine
So I won’t judge if your passions not mine,
Don’t judge a persons passion
Maybe one day it will be the fashion.
A Man
A man who is kind to others is a man who will succeed,
A man who find a hobby is a man who will have no time to hold a grudge,
A man who respects a lady will rarely be sorry,
A man who works hard will feel the winning feeling every man thrives for,
And a disciplined man won’t let anyone control the way they think or speak.
A man knows respect is earned not given so when a man earns respect he knows he has risen from the man he used to be.
ME
I’m the result of 30 trillion cells.
Despite this, I am different to you because you are you, and I am me.
You might like basketball, I like football.
There are people that you like, there’s people I like.
That makes me, me and you, you.
We’re different by appearance, different by our hobbies, but most importantly we’re different by who we are. Who we surround ourselves with and who we want our children to look up to.
You might say something that you believe in and I disagree with.
Yet again that’s you being you, and me being me.
And at the end, you are remembered for being you and I will be remembered for being me.
Girlfriend
Her hair is blonde
Her eyes are blue
She stands at a height of 5 foot 2.
She might seem perfect but if only you knew
She struggles with anxiety and peer pressure too.
She gets good grades
You’d be quick to assume
That it comes naturally to her
But you’d be wrong too.
She spends hours at home stressing over school
Hoping the other girls don’t see her as a tool.
This is a lesson
I hope you listen
Don’t be so quick to judge
You don’t know what you’re missing.
Sea
The wind is heavy and the waves are crashing
Two meters in height and the wind takes flight,
Flags are flapping and the birds are soaring,
The fish are swimming and the seals are jumping.
The seagulls cry,
The people are laughing,
Sandcastles on the beach
Trenches dug deep.
The sun is shining down on the sand,
The bright colours fill the land,
The cliffs might in height,
As the sea goes calm during night.
Earth
Don’t be on earth without leaving a trace
Because you’re very capable
Of making it a better place.
You might not be remembered
With no picture on a wall,
Just make sure to pick others back up
After they’ve taken a fall.
The story of a life
I’m a white man from Africa, I’m a proud Christian.
My faith and my family get me through it and make me know that there is a reason to try.
So try I do and I succeed and when I don’t, I don’t stop until I do.
Hiding
As we hide our faces
We change our places
And stay the same within.
But although our struggles
Are like bubbles
The beauty of our skin
Will keep our knuckles thin.
So we hide our faces
To look like we are in different places.
But deep down we stay the same.
Red Haired Rooster
The hair glows like the light but I’m not a lamppost,
They call me rooster the red haired fein but feinious I am not.
They call me a star cause I glow in the night calling me the small red haired boy is not right,
They want me to scorch in the pits of hell but calling me a torch does not sit well,
They call me their shining light in the sky but up high I am just a normal guy,
Tom the red haired rooster is not a fair name.
Don’t be Racist
Roses are red, violets are blue
Don’t be racist, or else you are a fool
Put yourself in a coloured persons shoes
For the troubles they go through,
Don’t be a fool.
Time
Time going by it feels like I’m going to throw a watch in the air the way that time flying
Everyday a new day sometime in the life it feels too competitive but we keep roaming on
Youth
Walking into the new entrance like a pathway to your future,
you wish you could stay this age where everything is simple and nice,
but yet the harsh reality unfolds as you grow old with issues
left right centre lads slagging you for anything different,
You find it normal but yet it hurts you try talk
but feel as though you have no tongue,
you build up the courage but feel life is almost done.
Boys & Girls
Boys are more loyal to their friends
Most girls pretend.
Boys are meant to be brave
Girls rarely misbehave.
People
The people we are is never shown,
It’s hidden beneath the world’s moan.
Some people think it’s easier to be
Someone they aren’t and be carried by the sea,
And when your emotions aren’t control-able,
And everything feels moan-able,
There is more to life then the eye can see,
So live your life with sparkling glee.
Sun
When the lights dimmer and the sun goes down
We as people listen to the music at the town.
Everyone is singing and dancing and having fun
While the sun doesn’t have any pun.
Sport
Sport is great and it may never break,
It will sometimes fail but is never fake,
Winning is good loosing bad and makes you sad,
Maybe sometimes makes you mad.
Sport gives you friends and connections
You also never get cut off into different sections,
Sport is about battle and how hard you train
Or you may fail and go through lots of pain.
Love
Hearts are red love is clear.
Romance is in the sky.
When we die our love never dies.
I shall love you for ever my love.
Activities
Activities is what I do
Whether it’s playing with a ball
Or just going to the loo,
I want to do it all.
I love to surf
Play games with my mates
And play in the turf
And maybe get a date.
Things that annoy me
Lazy people,
boring people,
eating with your mouth open,
smelling bad,
afraid to fail,
no ambition,
people ok with being average.
Bullet
The man once said,
That if you had a bullet to your head,
Would you do as said,
Or shall I put you to bed.
My life and hobbies
I enjoy football for my local club st. Mary’s as I’m not anything special so I just like to enjoy it,
I also enjoy fashion but some of it can be expensive as stuff like stussy, bape, stone island and more.
I enjoy working hard to earn money so it feels like I earned it instead of getting it handed for me as like I did in my summer job.
School
The late notes,
The detention slips,
The annoying teachers,
I want to go home.
Who I am
I am a man who likes to have fun with my mates and play games in my free time,
my favourite hobbies is rugby and I’m good at other sports too.
I’m just more into rugby I try hard in school and get average grade which I don’t mind and my friends do the same.
When I’m at home I’ll either talk to my parents or sister or I’ll lock myself in my room and chat to my mates offer the phone while playing some PlayStation, that’s who I am.
Judged
They judge you in all black
can’t do anything original they’ll pull you back.
can’t wear colours can’t do different from the others.
Full tracksuit nothing else can’t be individual or be yourself
My Gran
My gran goes to bingo and tells her friends I’m tall
I get embarrassed and red faced and all
but that’s why I love her she’s kind to us all
Untitled
I’m dancing and prancing around,
My dances are so profound,
The weather is perfect for it,
In the party it is lit.
I do a backflip and hit a nae nae and whip,
I teleport to North Korea,
And give Kim a kiss on the lips.
Nick Frost
Steven is like Nick Frost,
Everything comes with a cost,
I’m gonna buy a Jet to fly,
Over to Uruguay.
I’m gonna do a fart,
Because beans are good for your heart,
I own this universe man I own it,
Like I’m crazy like that dawg.
Untitled
Walking through the forrest at 7 in the morning watching and listening to see if anything moves.
I have the rifle on one shoulder and the sticks in the other I saw a pricket which Is a stag with 1 point instead of antlers on each side of his head,
I set up for the shot but he got spooked and ran off.
There was no way he’d come back since he knew so we moved on through the forrest till we came across a huge stag.
Yet again I stopped and set up and watched waiting for my shot he was hiding behind a tree making it hard.
I was questioning if I’d be able to take the shot because I had so much adrenaline running through my body after a while he did move out from the tree and I did take the shot and hit my first deer he needed up being a 6 pointer.
I have been hunting since I can remember but I never had felt suck emotion from it before it is because of the suck high adrenaline rush I get from shooting suck a big animal.
Since then I have shot 2 more deer and one of them being my first big stag with 8 points on there antlers.
This relates to masculinity as its seen as a masculine thing to do hunt animals and many people think it to be cruel and based off carelessness but in fact it isn’t cruel the animals I have shot I can guarantee had a better life than the animals you eat in your McDonald’s.
After a Storm
The trees, I see them, they’re swaying,
The kids, I hear them, they’re playing,
The morning dew rests gently on my car
While the sun rises from afar.
Branches and leaves left on the floor
Could you ever ask for more,
The beautiful calmness
After a storm.
The Echoes of Memories
The week breeze whispers nothing
The raging cars roar
I lay head in hands
Just like we used to.
The blazing beams of sun creep though the trees
The melodies sooth my mind
I hum along to the beat
Just like we used to.
The night gradually devours the light
The breeze halts it gentle dance
I stand up and crack my back
Just like we used too.
The sapphire shine lights up the tombstone
The writing pierces through my soul
I wish we could go on one more walk
Just like we used to.
Past
The past is a door that is opened sometimes.
Either through a thought or a memory that comes to arise.
It may be a happy memory that may bring joy.
Or a memory that may bring sadness and sorrow.
Though memories may bring these feelings
They are a part of the past and cannot be changed.
Untitled
I woke up and thought what will happen today
Another day of laughter or will I be afraid?
I used to wonder and think and say
But now I sit back and live in that day.
It’s all about learning and growing up
I hope that one day people will know they’re enough.
Our Lives
The broken soul
Has no toll, but to tell, but to beg, but to scream
The insecurities of our role,
Has no need in dreams to be told,
The inner shell we refuse to show is
The side we all love and know,
The side that turns the world to show
The side we all love and know,
In a world that society rules with lies
We cannot hide,
We can not run,
But we must turn and face the cries
Or we shall not live our lives.
Untitled
Along the river
And down by the dam
The old man sang with a can in his hand.
He sang in Rhythm
And the young birds chirped,
They sang together
And talked about life
And wondered why they have no wife.
The Competitive
Sometimes in the life I’m too competitive
It’s good too be competitive but sometimes
I get too competitive,
Competitiveness isn’t about winning or losing
But how you got there in the end,
If you get too competitive it’s bad for you
But you must have a balance for all things in
the life.
Growth
Being a man means a lot,
Childhood, boyhood shapes you.
What you like, Football, PlayStation
Is what’s important,
But really the people are important,
Friends, Family
Give you comfort, entertainment,
Being a man
That’s my statement.
The mirror
We all at some point will look in the mirror
Some see ourselves, others see a flawed image,
others don’t even know themselves.
The image we see is constantly changing for better and worse,
You must ask what will you see when you look?
Will you like what you see?
Will you see what you want to see?
Will you recognise the image or will you even have the courage to look?
Untitled
There are many stereotypes with being a man
Including strength power and driving a van.
We’re meant to be sporty through and through
Even if it’s not what we want to do.
Masculinity shouldn’t define you
But being feminine makes ‘real men’ feel blue,
21st century and people still can’t believe
That a man being feminine doesn’t make them leave.
Being a Man
I love being a man
But it has many stereotypes,
Like strong and macho,
But something we all have to do is be aware that vulnerability is not a bad thing,
And it make more strong and more macho.
Untitled
This talk gave me the opportunity to learn more about myself
and took a moment to reach beyond the confines of my daily life.
It allowed me to think about who I truly am,
and how I present myself to others to fit in.
Untitled
Stephen talked in an entertaining manner and made me think about stuff going on in my life and how it affects me.
A lot of the stuff he talked about was relatable and I could easily convert it to apply to my life.
My favourite part was when he discusses why we like men and woman and the difference between the two.
Goal
An old silent pitch,
A player scores a nice goal,
Yay! Silence again.
The Joker
We played the game, all tricks, no trust,
Laughter’s gone, turned smiles to dust.
Chaos reigns, the joke’s imperious—
Tell me, dear—why so serious?
Untitled
Life is a gift,
So treasure it whenever chance you get,
Think about how lucky you are to experience the ups and downs,
When we watch the sunset or natural beauty,
It will always be an honour for me.
Untitled
Roses are red violets are blue,
I love Cristiano Ronaldo and so should you.
He shoots he scores and when he goes to bed he snores,
he’s the best and there be no next,
he’s a one of a kind as he shines like a dime.
Stop
Stop and look, it might pass you.
Waves
Slash and splash the waves today,
Later on we are here to play,
Down around the empty beach
Where no one is to reach
Now we sit here all alone,
Sitting with our deepest thoughts.
Untitled
In shadows deep, where whispers lie,
The moon looks down with a knowing sigh.
We chase the light, though darkness nears,
Hiding all our quiet fears.
Untitled
I put my Pekka behind the king tower,
awaiting an arrow shower,
Soon she reaches the bridge with her one man army,
where my opponent counters with a scarmy
I play my zap and place a firecracker,
this guy must think i’m a hacker
My pekka connects and takes the tower in 3,
“gimme that crown” i shout in glee!
Onto the final boss my pekka goes,
solum with sadness my enemy knows
His tower falls,
and my lucky drop calls.
Football
Cold night
But football creates warmth
Atmosphere creates desire.
A Man
Through the days of school,
The days so gloom,
I stop and think of a man so cruel.
His buttoned shirt and old white vest,
A dangerous man from city west.
A man oh so kind but behind the scenes a man with a scary mind.
As the days go by we stop and think of where this man could have been.
A man so secret a man so mysterious where could he be I wonder for ages.
Untitled
Be the solution
Untitled
Mix a pancake stir a pancake pop it in the pan catch it if you can
Untitled
I play a sport,
The sport is football
It’s very fun,
But I don’t know if I’m good at all,
I stand in defense
All big and tall
But these fat attackers,
Still make me feel small.
Tested
What will you do when the world breaks down,
When you’re depended on
You hope fear is far,
Are you a coward?
That day may never come
But you want it to come,
You want to prove yourself,
Are you ready?
The world needs you,
Your life is a number,
Be better,
Are you sure?
Untitled
I walk into maths
30 minutes late.
I apologise to the teacher
She says “oh great.”
I smile at my mate,
He laughs in my face,
Mr Hanley comes around with a slip
A Tuesday detention for flip sake.
Workshop
I thought the workshop to be really good at urging boys,
especially my age, to be more in touch with their feminine side,
I hope for the workshop to help me and my friends to change for the better,
taking down the false mask that are very prevalent in all of our lives.
I learned more about how woman can often be more vulnerable than men
and there are many valid reasons for this.
Untitled
I enjoyed the workshop talking about masculinity and femininity and learning about sensitivity and weaknesses that we don’t show but are still there.
