Manhood

I hate the stigma, on men who are trying to be themselves,

The feeling of being books that are stuck upon their shelves,

The instant scrutiny that comes with doing what you love,

Whether that is being hard as stone or as pure as a dove.

When I try to express the feelings that I wish I didn’t feel,

My mind wont let me tell them, as if stuck upon a wheel.

My opinions and views should be none of their concern,

But how am I meant to teach them when they’re too afraid to learn.

This place, I feel it traps me, like my own eternal hell,

It shouldn’t be an issue, to let my mind free from its cell,

I know that I relate to these things my mind desires,

But fear wont let me see anything past life’s alarming ire.

What is a man?

A man is what it was like to grow up in a war-torn battle field of my family home,

a man is never being able to look at him the same,

a man is forever having an aim to be protective of my family,

What is a man?

Is a man somebody who changes in front of others?

Or is a man somebody who changes for the better of himself?

A Man

A man is more than

Tough tongues and sharp shoulders

For which is as strong as faux,

As men show strong eyeing open windows

When a quiet chorus fills the room.

Being Human

Being human is respecting peoples opinions,
Being there for others in time of need,
It’s having the courage to admit your wrong,
It’s being able to face your fears and challenges,
Being human is being yourself.

Untitled

As a boy raised in a less favourable location,

I’ve learned that people are forced to hide who they truly wish to be

I myself have been forced to do this before but recently I’ve found myself to be more than meets the eye.

I’ve found myself to be quite different than what I expected,

I’ve found myself to have more feminine qualities,

and I’ve come to accept that, so all I have left to say is

You should never be afraid to be yourself no matter your

location, because those who are truly close to you will

accept you for all that you are.

Untitled

Being human is having compassion in times of grief,
It’s being able to be Selfless in times of Desire,
Being able to defend people at their times of loss,
It’s having the courage to not follow the flock,
Being able to accept those are different from us,
It’s doing the right thing over the wrong,
Being human is being kind.

Our Team

Our team

Which art eleven

Hallowed be thy game

Our match be won

Their score be none

On turf as we score at least seven

Give us today no daily red … card

And forgive us our lost passes

As we forgive those

Who lose passes against us

Lead us not into retaliation

And deliver us from penalties

For three is the kick off

The power and scorer

For ever and ever

Full time

Untitled

To be a man is to be strong enough to be gentle and gentle enough to be strong.

It’s hard when there are so many different versions of you in other peoples heads,

whether that be the strong muscular rugby player or the vulnerable down to earth guys.

Both are masculine.

Only you know everything about yourself and you choose what you show to other people.

If your friends don’t accept you for who you truly are then they are friends with a stranger.

Sometimes it feels like I don’t even know the real me but with time and patience I will prevail.

Untitled

It was a windy day, The gales were blowing,

players were making hay and the ball was flowing,

into the net the noise of the crowd was growing.

Ireland began to win and the oppositions heads were in the bin.

Our country was soaring, and our emotions pouring.

At last, our losing streak came to an end.

Futile

The best part about being human
would be freewill as most say,
but the worst part would be
feeling it get wisped away constantly,

Getting blown away like a plastic bag
with no weight behind it and
being forced down paths based on
decisions made by bigger groups
and not of our own volition.

Limerick’s Sport

As a boat runs on glass
The hurl strikes on ash.
Every sport attracts every class
As they lie by the Shannon’s banks.

We are men

We are men
People expects us to be strong
We are men
People think we are weak when we show vulnerability
We are men
People ignore our emotions
We are men
People think we are all violent
We are men
We can be vulnerable too
We are men
We have emotions too

Untitled

If you’re not like everyone you’re considered weird,
if you want to be yourself then you’re considered quare,
if you try be different people try to change you,
if you have a different view on life then people start to flame you,
and in the end just be yourself,
and don’t try to be someone else.

Men

We want to big big,

We want to be strong,

We want to be cool,

We want to funny.

We need to be caring,

We need to be kind,

We need to be respectful,

We need to be men.

As A Man

As a man in this generation we hide the truth to fit in,

to make friends and to bury the fear of loosing the friends we have made.

We feel as though if we be our true selves they will think of us different and we will be all alone,

we feel we need to copy what others do “if he wants that girl then I do too,”

we laugh at jokes we don’t find funny cause we don’t want to be different.

We are all images of each other and we try to fit in but sometimes that mask we wear slips and for some reason we feel embarrassed by it.

Sports

I like rugby and soccer

they are very entertaining to watch and to play,

I support man united its like watching paint dry,

Every weekend its boring and always the same.

I am extremely passionate about sports and

hate losing so I try my hardest in everything I do.

I want to try and make it professional in either of these

sports with that it will take huge dedication and hard work.

Being a Man

Being a man is sticking up for others when they are down.
It’s to help that person in need.
Being a man is about being different when everybody is the same.
It’s about being yourself.
Being human is being a leader,
It’s about changing the narrative
And going against the bigotry,
That’s what a man is.

Rugby Training

Rugby training is so long,

so pointless when theres no result,

sometimes it makes you want to quit,

but you keep playing because of how much you love it,

being surrounded by ur friends playing the sport you love,

and the buzz feeling you get playing a match in-front of people.

The United way

Walking down to Old Trafford to see the Greats

Along with a few of my mates.

The players make some early mistakes

But they start playing great.

The fans are bouncing

and the start to sing.

Leaving the venue after playing great

and hang around with some of my mates.

Match day

I get out of bed and hear the lashing rain,

There isn’t an ache in my body not even a pain.

I get kitted out and ready

I have Breakfast , toast is plenty.

This feeling of excitement cannot be topped,

when I get out on the field I will not be stopped.

I get in the car and get to the venue

A cup final win is long overdue.

Soccer Match

I had a soccer match last night,

so we put a good fight,

we did really good,

so we got some food,

where i got a pizza,

then I said see ya.

Untitled

I hate school because every teacher is a fool.

Everyone thinks they are cool,

Homework is bad,

It makes me sad,

Its hard to concentrate

Because school isn’t great.

And that is why I hate school

And oh yeah

Every teacher is a fool.

Untitled

I love watching soccer.

My favourite team is Manchester United.

My favourite player is Marcus Rashford.

I am excited to watch them play tomorrow.

This season they have made me very sad because they are so bad.

I hope they will win tomorrow.

Untitled

i hate when you pick up a mouse

i love when you buy me a house

l hate when you always make so many wishes

i love when u do the dishes

i hate when you lie

it makes me sigh

i love when u show affection

i hate when you be stressing

i love when you give me loads of kisses

its one of my favourite wishes

thats all for now the end

i like rugby and soccer.

I like rugby and soccer cause its a global sport

and everyone can play like those sports regardless whatever your situation,

If you’re gay or disabled or even homeless.

It unites everyone off and on the pitch.

You experience different feeling

and moments such as you might want to dump tackle someone or 2 foot them.

You experience loss and anger if you get battered

having to go home after preforming badly and you might get sad if you lose a final.

My team got battered and injured but it was fine cause we got closer together.

So these sports are the best cause the thrill of winning and lose if you’re playing or watching.

It unites people all over the world.

This is why rugby and football are the best sports in the world.

Untitled

I believe that being a man is making the hard decisions,
and trying to act like someone you are not for people doing the same thing.
This makes me think who are people under the masks and if people
are really who they seem.

School

School is like prison all the inmates are students. Yard time is lunch time. Dark classrooms are like miserable cells.

Teachers and staff members are like prison guards. The lunchtime and canteens the same in school and in prison.

No child wants to go to school like no adult wants to go to prison. The difference is prison is avoidable yet school is not.

Untitled

I play rugby with my school and soccer and Gaelic football outside of school

I enjoy them and I am good at them,

I play scrum half for rugby, corner forward for football and in midfield for soccer.

I enjoy the battle on the pitch but I enjoy the battle more off the field the hard work that no one sees

the long days training after school ands the long sessions that I do on my own in the summer and winter the late nights and the early mornings.

That is what i enjoy

Untitled

In this world I’m a man,

Worth more than a frying pan.

Sitting in my caravan, thinking about thoughts,

Thoughts come fast and leave so slow.

We have the craic

And slap the backs, of the boys we always know

Take the piss on the best of bits,

Even though the jokes don’t hit

In this world I’m a man.

We have the craic, there is no plan.

Untitled

I like to play games in my spare time.

I am getting big into 3D modelling

and I already sat in for a college class

and I’ve made a couple projects on it.

But school is making it annoying to practice

because I spend most my time in school

not being able to do what I want to do

it’s making it hard to practice

but eventually I want to make 3D models for games.

Untitled

I don’t like school its uninteresting

and doesn’t teach the way it should teach

it’s been the same thing for hundred’s of years

and should be changed everything else

has been changed except for schools.

Untitled

I hate school,

I hate the classes,

I hate the time we have to wake up for it

and I hate the homework they assign to us.

The classes are useless most of the time

and the subjects are stupid.

I hate school.

Untitled

When I grow up I don’t want to be rich or famous,

I want to be kind.

Because as long as I am kind I will be happy,

and as long as I am kind I will be rich in all the right ways.

Untitled

I had a dream once,

that I will become the Top 1 rugby player,

But to achieve that dream, I’d have to train like hell to become Top 1,

Being Top 1 isn’t easy as you had to keep training to stay Top 1.

Faith

God saved me from myself

Who am I to judge, as I myself walk as an imperfection.

What does being human mean? (a haiku)

There is no answer
It cannot be written down
Pretty confusing.

Untitled

Being a man is about being passionate about something no matter what that is,

Being a man is about confident in yourself,

Being a man is about being a good friend.

To be Human

To be human is to be kind and love those special to you,

To be human is to live laugh and enjoy life,

To be human is to be confident and never let anyone put you down.

Untitled

Being a man is about many different things

None of them right,

Sporty, tall and strong,

Nerdy, small and skinny,

At the end of the day we’re all just men.

Masculinity is a construct,

Left to interpretation.

Untitled

I don’t know what it means to be a man

But I’ll try to be one the best I can

Until I make my final stand.

Untitled

We’ve got Bannan,

Barry bannan,

I just don’t think you understand

a little Scottish man,

He’s batter than Zidane,

we’ve got Barry Bannan.

Untitled

Another day in SMC,

hopping on the mic like Biggie,

I just wanna leave as you can see,

chilling with my bro it’s Shickey,

you know all the ladies love me,

and to be honest I can’t disagree.
